How we use information
In short: we build websites for businesses and contact them about it, by post and, for limited companies in the UK, by email. If you'd rather we didn't, use the "Not interested? Remove it" link on your preview, reply STOP, or email us, and we will stop on every channel.
Who we are
iDezign ([not set: IDZ_BRAND_ENTITY]) decides how the information described here is used, which makes us the controller. You can contact us at hello@idezign.website or by post at [not set: IDZ_BRAND_ADDRESS]. Our representative in the UK for data protection is [not set: IDZ_UK_REPRESENTATIVE].
Businesses we contact
We use: the business name, trading and registered addresses, company details from Companies House, the business's own website and the contact details published on it, and our own check of how well that website works. For sole traders and partnerships some of this is personal data.
We use it because we have a legitimate interest in offering a website to a business that is likely to need one. We have weighed that against your interests: we only contact businesses about their own business, we include a way to stop on everything we send, and we follow the stricter rules on email. In the UK we only email limited companies at a business address; sole traders and partnerships are contacted by post. In Cyprus we contact businesses by post or in person only.
Preview visits
When you open a preview we record that it was opened, roughly how long it was viewed, which plan pages were looked at, and the type of browser. We don't use cookies and we don't store IP addresses.
Clients
If you buy a plan we use your contact and billing details, the content and photos you send, and your change requests, to provide the service under our contract with you, and to keep accounts as the law requires.
Visitors to our clients' sites
For sites we host, we count visits and taps on the phone number without cookies or personal identifiers. Messages sent through a site's enquiry form are passed to the business that owns the site, which is the controller for them; we handle them on its behalf.
Who helps us
- Cloudflare: hosting of previews and client sites.
- Stripe: payments.
- Stannp: printing and posting cards.
- Smartlead: sending email to limited companies.
- Resend: emails to clients, such as enquiry forwarding and monthly reports.
- Anthropic: an AI service that helps write website text from the business details above.
Some of these process information outside the UK and the EU, under the standard contractual safeguards those laws provide for.
How long we keep it
- Previews come down after 30 days. The record of a business we contacted is deleted 12 months after our last contact, except for a minimal entry on our do-not-contact list, which we keep so that we never contact you again.
- Client records are kept for as long as you use the service, and accounting records for six years after that.
Your rights
You can object to direct marketing at any time, and we will stop. You can also ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold, or ask us to restrict its use. You can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK or the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection in Cyprus.
Changes
We'll update this notice if what we do changes, and show the date it last changed at the top.
